Although I love banana nut bread, I was ready to try a new recipe with my ripe bananas. YUM!

Ingredients For banana peanut butter bars with chocolate chips

1/2 cbutter, softened

3/4 csugar

1/3 cpeanut butter (smooth or crunchy)

1egg

1/2 tspvanilla

1 1/4 cflour

1/2 tspsoda
-
1 coats

1/2 cmashed very rip banana

1/2 cmini semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cchopped dry roasted peanuts
- FROSTING

1/2 cbutter, softened
-
1/4 cmilk
-
1 cpowdered sugar
-
3/4 ccocoa powder
-
extra milk, as needed
How To Make banana peanut butter bars with chocolate chips

1Heat oven to 350. Line a 13x9 pan with foil so that about 1" of foil goes over the edge of the pan. Grease foil generously.

2Combine butter, sugar, peanut butter, egg and vanilla.Add flour and baking soda. Add in oats, banana, chips and peanuts.

3Place mixture into prepared pan. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown. Place on rack and cool completely.

4To make frosting, place butter in bowl and mix until creamy. Add powdered sugar. Combine well. Add milk, combine. Add cocoa and continue beating until frosting is light and fluffy. You may add additional milk to get consistency that you like. Frost cooled bars. Remove from pan by lifting using the overhanging foil. Cut into squares.
