I make these cookies at Christmas time. They are usually gone before I can plate them. Chocolate and banana make a great combination. I found this recipe at cookierecipes.blogspot.com. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Ingredients For banana chocolate chip softies

  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 2/3 c
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 2
    bananas
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c
    choc chips
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts (optional)

How To Make banana chocolate chip softies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or use parchment paper. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

    In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Beat in the banana and egg, then stir in the vanilla.

    Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until well blended. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (optional). Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet.

    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on your oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minuntes before removing to wire rack. Let them cool completely.
