How To Make applesauce spice cookies
-
1Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg; set aside.
-
2In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and gradually add the sugars. Beat until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat until blended, this would be the time to add vanilla or what ever extract you like.
-
3On low speed, add applesauce and sifted dry ingredients.
-
4Beat just until all ingredients are blended together, using a rubber spatula to scrape down sides of bowl.
-
5Stir in the oats, raisins, nuts, and chocolate chips.
-
6Drop dough by level tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets, about 1 inch apart.
-
7Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned. Remove immediately from cookie sheets to racks to cool completely. Makes 5 dozen.
