Ingredients For apple and plum bars

3 mdapples, golden delicious, sliced

6 mdplums, seeded and chopped

3/4 csugar

2 Tbspcorn starch

1/3 cwater
-
1/4 tspsalt
- CRUST/TOPPING

2 call purpose flour

1/2 tspbaking soda
-
1 Tbspbaking powder
-
1 cbutter
-
1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

2 cquick cooking rolled oats
How To Make apple and plum bars

1Filling: In a med saucepan, combine apples, plums, sugar, water, corn starch, and salt.cook qt med heat for 10 minutes or until thickened. Set aside.

2In a large bowl, sift flour, baking soda, baking powder. Cut in butter with pastry cutter. Stir in brown sugar and rolled oats. Press half of mixture into greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Pour fruit mixture on top; top with remaining flour mixture.

3Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, until top is slightly browned. Cool before cutting into bars.
