Ingredients For anise snaps

  • 3/4 c
    butter
  • 2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    anise extract or 1 teas. anise seeds
  • 1 tsp
    lemon extract -not lemon juice
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp
    honey
  • 3 1/4 c
    flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    cream or tartar

How To Make anise snaps

  • 1
    Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, anise,lemon and vanilla extract, and honey beat well. Combine flour, soda and cream of tartar and blend into mixture. Chill dough about 30 minutes for easy handling. Shape into balls; using rounded teaspoonful for each. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350^ oven for 8-10 minutes or until just golden brown.
