Yummy cookies. Originated in Louisiana and spread from there. The pecans in these are fabulous. Cook time is per cookie sheet.

Ingredients For angel chocolate chip cookies

1/2 cbutter, softened

1/2 cshortening

1/2 cgranulated sugar

1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 mdegg

1 tspvanilla extract

1/8 tspalmond extract

2 call-purpose flour

1 tspbaking soda

1 tspcream of tartar

1/4 tspsalt

12 ozsemi-sweet chocolate morsels or chips

1 cchopped pecans

additional sugar for rolling
How To Make angel chocolate chip cookies

1Cream the butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl. Gradually add the sugars, beating well at the medium speed of an electric mixer.

2Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract; beat well.

3Combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.

4Add to the creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in the chocolate morsels and pecans.

5Shape the dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.

6Bake at 350 degrees F for 14 to 15 minutes. Let cool on wire racks.
