Yummy cookies. Originated in Louisiana and spread from there. The pecans in these are fabulous. Cook time is per cookie sheet.

Ingredients For angel chocolate chip cookies

  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 md
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp
    almond extract
  • 2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 12 oz
    semi-sweet chocolate morsels or chips
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • additional sugar for rolling

How To Make angel chocolate chip cookies

  • 1
    Cream the butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl. Gradually add the sugars, beating well at the medium speed of an electric mixer.

    Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract; beat well.

    Combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.

    Add to the creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in the chocolate morsels and pecans.

    Shape the dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.

    Bake at 350 degrees F for 14 to 15 minutes. Let cool on wire racks.
