Grandma W changed her recipes often, so you will find 3 of these in JAP. The one I loved was the original recipe that she made just for me! Note: this recipe was edited in September of 99, and I have to admit I prefer the original recipe. This is much greasier. See recipe for Biscotti for a better dough.

1 canalmond filling (not paste)

4 cflour

1 csugar, minus 2 tablespoons

2 tspbaking powder

3/4 cshortening

3 lgeggs

2 Tbspvanilla (yes, tablespoon, not a misprint)

milk
How To Make almond rolls, 2 (grandma w's)

1Mix flour, sugar and powder. Work in shortening. Make a well and add eggs and vanilla. Knead well, adding milk if needed. 375 degree oven middle rack, 18 min.
