My mother made these and I still have her recipe card from the 50's.

Ingredients For almond crescents

  • 1 c
    butter
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp
    water
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts (optional)
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar (for coating)

How To Make almond crescents

  • 1
    Cream butter, vanilla and sugar, add water. Add flour. Mix in thoroughly. Add nuts (if desired). Form into crescents and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for about 25 minutes.

    They should be delicately browned. While still warm roll in powdered sugar.
