I am always looking for good tasting lowfat cookie recipes, but certainly didn't expect this surprise. We accidentally left out a few ingredients in my regular cookie recipe. The result was a great tasting, chewy, lowfat, healthy, low sugar cookie. Perfect for dunking! I hope you like it! Enjoy!

3/4cup + 2 tablespoons unbleached flour

1/2cup granulated sugar

1/4cup quick cooking oats

3/4cup toasted wheat germ

1/4cup pecans, chopped

1teaspoon baking powder
-
1/4teaspoon salt
-
1cup regular chocolate chips
-
3/4cup applesauce
-
1egg white
-
1teaspoon vanilla

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2In a large mixing bowl, combine flour wheat germ, sugar, pecans, baking powder, salt and chocolate chips.

3In a small mixing bowl, combine applesauce, egg white, and vanilla. Mix well. Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and mix just with a fork until blended.

4Drop by teaspoonful, an inch apart, onto baking sheets that have been sprayed with Pam. Bake 17 to 20 minutes, depending on your oven, or until cookies are a golden brown
