Ingredients For turkey mole recipe

1/2 cslivered almonds

1/2 tspvegetable oil
-
2 1/8 mddried ancho or anaheim chillies, stemmed, seeded and chopped

1 cchopped onion
-
2 clovegarlic
-
1chipoltle chile in adobo
-
1 1/2 cfire roasted crushed tomatoes

1 Tbspsugar
-
1/2 tspcumin
-
1/4 tspsea salt
-
1/8 tspground cinnamon
-
1 ozsemi-sweet chocolate, chopped
-
26 in size corn tortillas torn into pieces

1 Tbspwhite wine vinegar
-
1/2 cchicken broth
-
1 1/2 lbturkey (or chicken) thighs

cilantro spring, optional
How To Make turkey mole recipe

1Heat oil in a large skillet over med-high heat. Add the Chillies and saute 1 minute or until soft. Add the almonds, onion and garlic and saute 4 minutes or until onion is lightly browned.

2Spoon the mixture into a food processor, add the chipotle chili, sugar, spices, chocolate, tortilla pieces, vinegar and broth and process until smooth.

3Add the turkey pieces and spice mixture to the slow cooker, and stir to coat.

4Cover and cook on low-heat for 5-8 hours. Don't stir this during cooking. Remove and serve with a side of rice.
