What a superb piece of heaven... These bars are one of many sweet treats I am serving for Thanksgiving, they will be put in the freezer and brought out the morning of. They do freeze well. Oh, and if you decide to try these on guests, be prepared to hand out the recipe...as I am always asked for it...lol! Just out of the oven. Once they cool, I will post another picture. My photos

How To Make superb fudge nut bars
-
1Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. These can be made in a jelly roll pan or I used a 9 x 13 baking dish.
-
2Cream butter and sugar.
-
3Add flour, soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt until well mixed; stir in oatmeal. ( Batter will be stiff.)
-
4Spread 2/3 mixture onto 10x15x1 inch pan. ( I used a 9 x 13...will just be a thicker bar.)
-
5For filling, melt chocolate chips, milk, 2 tablespoons butter, and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt in small saucepan on medium heat until smooth. Stir in nuts and remaining 2 teaspoons vanilla.
-
6Pour over mixture in pan. Spread evenly. Dot with remaining oatmeal mixture.
-
7Bake for 20 minutes, or until topping begins to brown. I baked mine 25 minutes, due to using a smaller pan.
