These are so easy to make, I let my granddaughters help. They're great cookies for Christmas.

Ingredients For easy citrus-cherry thumbprint cookies

    16.5 oz tube refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 1/3 c
    flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon zest
  • 1 c
    cherry preserves, like smuckers

How To Make easy citrus-cherry thumbprint cookies

    Heat oven to 350. Place parchment paper down on a lg cookie sheet. On floured surface, knead dough, flour and lemon zest until combined.

    Shape dough into 1"-balls. Place dough balls 2" apart on cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 mins, or until golden.

    Using the handle end of wooden spoon, press an indent into center of each ball. Spoon preserves into centers. Let cool. If desired, sprinkle cooled cookies w/ powdered sugar.
