This was always a treat when I was growing up. I remember my mom making it often.

Ingredients For brownie pudding

  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp
    melted butter
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts of your choice
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1 3/4 c
    hot water

How To Make brownie pudding

  • 1
    Mix together first 9 ingredients. Pour into a greased 8x8 pan or equivalent casserole dish.

    Sprinkle brown sugar and 1/4 c. cocoa powder over batter.

    Pour 1 3/4 cup hot water over batter. DO NOT STIR! Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. The brownie rises to the top and the pudding forms on the bottom.

    Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Delicious!
