I finally found a divinity recipe that turns out right. Only make divinity on a clear sunny day. A heavy duty mixer works best with this recipe.

Ingredients For perfect divintity

  • 5 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    light corn syrup
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 lg
    egg whites or 3 small
  • 1-2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    chopped nuts (pecans)

How To Make perfect divintity

  • 1
    Combine sugar, syrup, water and salt; stir until sugar dissolves. Heat to boiling. Cover and boil for 2 minutes.

    Uncover and cook to softball stage or to 238 degrees.

    Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
  • 4
    Slowly, pour syrup over egg whites, beating constantly using electric mixer. Beat until candy is cool and holds shape.

    Add vanilla and nuts.

    Drop quickly by teaspoons onto waxed paper.
