peanut butter fudge

This is a recipe my mother used and her mother before her. You can use a candy thermometer or just test your candy mix in a cup of cold water if you are familiar with that method. I grew up with the cold cup method however since this is usually something I only make at holiday time, I use a candy thermometer on the first batch of the year.

Ingredients For peanut butter fudge

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    light karo syrup
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 c
    peanut butter, creamy or crunchy, your choice

How To Make peanut butter fudge

  • 1
    Prepare a pie or dinner plate by buttering or spraying with non stick spray
  • 2
    In a sauce pan Cook the first four ingredients to soft ball stage and remove from heat
  • 3
    Stir in the peanut butter until mixed then pour into your buttered/sprayed plate
  • 4
    Cool and cut
