These were a favorite of my mother-in-law. However, she never could make these without burning them so she would buy the ingredients and have me make them for her. She was the best mother-in law anyone could ask for and I miss her dearly.

Ingredients For original pecan pralines

2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1/4 cwater

2 1/2 cmixed pecan pieces,and halves

1 Tbspbutter
How To Make original pecan pralines

1Combine sugar and water in a heavy 2-qt saucepan.

2Heat to boiling, using low heat and stirring CONSTANTLY. Stir in pecans.

3Cook until mixture reaches softball stage or 235 degrees. Be careful not to burn.

4Remove from heat; stir in butter. Immediately drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper.

5Let stand until firm. Yield about 1 1/2 dozen.
