Ingredients For licorice chews

2 cansweetened condensed milk

4 csugar

3 Tbspcorn syrup, light

2 cbutter

1/2 tspsalt

1 1/2 Tbspblack food coloring

2 1/2 tspanise flavoring
How To Make licorice chews

1In a heavy pan, mix together all ingredients (EXCEPT: the food coloring and flavoring). Cook stirring constantly until it reaches 235 degrees (Firm Ball Stage).

2Add the food coloring and flavoring. Stir for 1 minute.

3Pour into 1 or 2 rectangular cake pans (depending on how thick you want to make the candy). Cool. Cut into desired size cubes. Wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap.

4*** Just put a light dusting of powdere sugar in the pans. *** You can sprinkle a little powdered sugar on the cooled finished product to make less sticky for wrapping in wax paper.
