Ingredients For homemade black flavored licorice

2 ccane sugar

1 ccorn syrup, dark

1/2 cdark molasses

1 csweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk

1 cbutter

dash of salt

1 Tbspanise oil or about 2-3 tablespoons anise extract
How To Make homemade black flavored licorice

1Combine in a heavy saucepan over medium heat the sugar, molasses and corn syrup; mix well.

2Add sweetened condensed milk, butter and salt. Stir constantly.

3Bring mixture to a boil and gently boil to 232° on candy thermometer.

4Stir in anise oil and remove from heat.

5Pour into a foil lined greased foil 9x13-inch pan.

6Cool at room temperature for 10 minutes then place in refrigerator for a few minutes.

7Cut into bite size pieces and wrap in waxed paper or cellophane.
