Ingredients For hard candy

  • 4 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1 c
    light karo syrup
  • 1 (1 oz) bottle
    flavoring oil ( we like cinnamon)
  • food coloring ( add drops to reach desired color)

How To Make hard candy

  • 1
    Combine all ingredients and cook until temperature reaches 300 degrees.
  • 2
    Remove from heat and add food coloring. Mix well, then add flavoring oil.( the whole bottle): mix well.

    Pour into shallow pan with sides. Let stand until cool and hard.
  • 4
    Break into pieces and coat with powdered sugar.
  • 5
    Store in candy dish or jar.
