Ingredients For english toffee

1 1/3 csugar

2 stickbutter, cold

3 Tbspwater, cold

1 Tbspwhite Karo syrup

1/2 tspsalt

1 tsppure vanilla extract

1 1/2 csemi sweet chocolate chips

1 cchopped walnuts or pecans
How To Make english toffee

1Cook first 5 ingredients over medium high heat until it reaches a hard crack stage and mixture is a medium brown toffee color. Stir in vanilla.

2Turn out into well greased metal jelly roll or large metal cake pan. Immediately pour chocolate chips on top and spread them as they melt across the toffee. Sprinkle on chopped nuts

3When the candy has thoroughly cooled and the chocolate is solid again, slightly twist the metal pan to break appart the toffee and release it from the pan. Toffee is easily broken into small pieces.
