How To Make chocolate candy cherries, grandma w
-
1Combine butter, syrup, vanilla and salt. Add sugar gradually and beat well. If it becomes too thick, knead it a little. Divide in half and roll into two 7 inch logs. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 1/2 hours to firm. Cut into 1 inch pieces, cut each piece into quarters. Place in palm of hand to flatten and wrap evenly around a cherry. Repeat with all remaining cherries. Place on waxed paper lined cookie sheets and freeze, covered, 30 min. Melt chips and shortening over hot but not boiling water until smooth, dip each cherry in, shake off excess and allow to cool on waxed paper lined cookie sheets in fridge.

2After chocolate hardens, you can dip again if desired.
