These bar cookies are so easy to make. Always use real butter! Substitutes do not taste as good...simply put. Spare yourself time and energy and only use real butter! I have been making these sweet delights since I was a youngster. Good year around, but a favorite during the Holidays!

Ingredients For chefcheryl's toffee bars

1 cbutter (2 sticks) no substitutes,real butter

1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1egg
-
1 tsppure vanilla extract

2 call purpose flour
-
1/4 tspsalt

1 cchocolate chips
-
1 ctoffee bits/chips
How To Make chefcheryl's toffee bars

1Heat oven: 350 degrees

2Cream the butter,brown sugar

3Add egg and vanilla
-
4Beat until it is well creamed and fluffy

5Blend in flour/salt, gradually

6mix well
-
7stir in chocolate chips and toffee bits

8press mixture into a 13 x9 inch jelly roll pan (I line pan with parchment paper)

9Bake for 20 minutes (do not over bake as it will be soft [should be]. It hardens as it cools)

10cut into bars and serve
