Ingredients For apricot treat, mark's

  • 1 c
    dried apricots, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp
    water
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    almonds, chopped
  • 1/3 c
    candied orange peel
  • powdered sugar
  • whipped cream
  • cinnamon

How To Make apricot treat, mark's

    Put the apricots and water in a heavy based pan. Cover and simmer, stirring for about 20 minutes, until a thick paste forms Stir in the sugar and simmer stirring for another 10 minutes until quite dry. Remove from heat and stir in the almonds and the orange peel Using a knife, shape into a "sausage" about 2 inches thick, on a sheat of greaseproof paper dusted with confectioner's sugar Leave to dry in a cool place for at least 3 hours. Cut into slices and serve with whipped cream, sprinkled with a little cinnamon.
