The first time I had this cake was back in the early 80's. My cousin was visiting from California and made this for a BBQ. We all loved it!

Ingredients For yum yum cake

1 pkgyellow cake mix
-
1 pkgvanilla pudding (small cooked kind)

1 cmilk
-
8 ozcream cheese, room temperature

12 ozcool whip, thawed
-
20 ozcan crushed pineapple, drained

1 pkgflaked coconut
-
1 cchopped pecans
-
maraschino cherries
How To Make yum yum cake

1Prepare yellow cake mix according to directions in a jelly roll pan. Cool completely.

2Cook vanilla pudding and milk. I use my microwave. Bring to a boil. Cool in refrigerator. Cover with saran wrap do it does not form a skin.

3Beat vanilla pudding and cream cheese together very well with mixer. Fold in Cool Whip.

4Frost the cake.

5Sprinkle pineapple over pudding, cream cheese & Cool Whip mixture.

6Sprinkle evenly with coconut. Then sprinkle with pecans.

7Use cherries to decorate cake/add color.

8Keep cake refrigerated.
