I found this recipe in a 1993 edition of Taste of Home Magazine. My mother-in-law loved this cake.

Ingredients For white texas sheet cake

1 cbutter
-
I cwater
-
2 call purpose flour
-
2 csugar
-
2eggs beaten
-
1/2 csour cream

1 tspalmond extract

1 tspsalt

1 tspbaking soda
- FROSTING

1/2 cbutter
-
1/4 cmilk
-
4 1/2 cconfectioners sugar

1/2 tspalmond extract

1 cchopped walnuts
How To Make white texas sheet cake

1In a large saucepan, bring butter and water to boil.

2Remove from the heat, stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, almond extract, slat and baking soda until smooth.

3Pour into a greased 15-in x 10 in x 1 baking pan.

4Bake at 375 for 20 to 22 minutes or until cake is golden brown and tests done. Cool for 20 minutes

5Meanwhile for frosting, combine butter and milk in a saucepan. Bring to boil.

6Remove from heat, add sugar and extract and mix well. Stir in walnuts

7Spread over warm cake.
