I prefer this delicious sheet cake over a chocolate one. My favorite cake is white so no surprise I'd prefer this. So moist, I just love it...I think it is quite pretty also. This is an excellent cake to take to a pot luck, always well received. Enjoy!! My photos

1 cbutter

1 cwater

2 csugar

2 cflour

2eggs

1/2 csour cream

1 tspvanilla or almond extract ( i use 1/2 tsp of both )

1 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspsalt
- PECAN FROSTING

1/2 cbutter
-
1/4 cmilk or half n half
-
4 1/2 cconfectioners' sugar

1/2 tspalmond extract
-
1 cchopped pecans
How To Make white sheet cake w/ pecan glaze

1In a large saucepan, bring 1 cup butter or margarine and water to a boil. Remove from heat, and stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, 1 teaspoon almond extract, salt, and baking soda until smooth. Pour batter into a greased sheet cake pan.

2Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes, or until cake is golden brown and tests done. Cool for 20 minutes.

3Combine 1/2 cup butter or margarine and milk in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Mix in sugar and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Stir in pecans

4Spread frosting over warm cake. Enjoy!
