One of my favorite cousins Aunt makes this cake and is it ever good ... ALWAYS!!! I hope you try it and enjoy it as much as I do.

Ingredients For white cake

  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 c
    cane sugar
  • 1 1/4 c
    milk
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 3 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 c
    vegetable shortening
  • 3 lg
    eggs

How To Make white cake

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 3 round layer pans or 1- 9 x 13 baking pan with grease and flour. Set aside.

    Beat together with electric mixer, shortening, sugar and eggs. Alternate flour, baking powder and soda with milk. Beat it well. Add vanilla extract, beat again , then add all other ingredients and mix well.

    Pour into 3 prepared round layer pans or 1 9x13 prepared baking pan. Place in a preheated 35o degree oven for 30 minutes. When done remove from oven, turn out of baking pan and allow to cool completely before frosting.
