1/2 cmolasses

2 call purpose flour

1 3/4 tspbaking powder

3/4 tspground cinnamon

1/2 tspground allspice

1/4 tspsalt

1/2 cfat free milk

cooking spray

caramel glaze, below
- FOR THE CARAMEL GLAZE

2/3 cfirmly packed brown sugar

2 Tbspbutter

2 Tbspfat free milk

1/8 tspsalt
How To Make warm molasses cake with caramel glaze

1Preheat oven to 375F. Combine brown sugar and butter in a large bowl; beat at medium speed of a mixer 5 minutes or until well blended. Add egg; beat well. Add molasses; beat well. Combine flour and next 4 ingredients; stir well. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture, alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

2Pour batter into a 9-inch square baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake for 27 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cake cool in pan 45 minutes on a wire rack.

3For caramel glaze, combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Place over medium heat, and cook until butter melts and mixture is smooth, stirring constantly with a whisk. Remove from heat; let cool slightly. Spread evenly over cake in pan. Serve warm or at room temperature.
