I believe this to be a recipe put together by Heloise, the newspaper columnist. One of the many, many recipes I am always cutting out of papers and magazines and never get around to making - until now. The cherries and nuts sounded too good to NOT make !

Ingredients For very cherry cake

2 stickbutter, softened

2 csugar

3eggs, beaten

3 cflour

1 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspsalt

1 tsppure vanilla extract

2 tspalmond extract

1 cchopped marachino cherries
-
1-1/2 cchopped nuts (i used pecans)

2 csour cream
How To Make very cherry cake

1Cream together the 2 sticks of butter and the sugar. Add the beaten eggs and mix thoroughly.

2Mix together the extracts and the sour cream. Add to the butter mixture.

3Then add in the flour, baking soda and salt. Mix to blend. Stir in the chopped maraschino cherries and the nuts.

4Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 325 degrees for about 1 to 1-1/2 hours.
