- WET INGREDIANTS

1/2 cshortening

1 csugar

3eggs

2 tspvanilla extract

1/2 chot water
- DRY INGREDIANTS

2 call purpose flour

1/2 tspsalt

1 tspbaking soda
-
1/2 tspbaking powder
- ICING RECIPE
-
1 cshortening
-
4 cpowdered sugar
-
4 Tbspwater
-
2 Tbspmilk
How To Make vanilla whoopie pies
-
1Pre heat oven to 425°
-
2In a large bowl combine and mix all wet ingredients EXCEPT HOT WATER
-
3In medium size bowl combine dry ingredients
-
4Add ½ dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix. Repeat with 2nd half of dry ingredients.

5Add Hot water and mix
-
6I used a 2” cookie scoop for the whoopie pies. Use a lightly greased or parchment covered
-
7Bake for 6 to 7 minutes

8Next are the icing steps

9Using a mixer combine shortening and powdered sugar
-
10Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time adding 2 Tbsp of water with each cup and ending with the 2 Tbsp of milk

11On med/high speed mix icing for 5 minutes

12Scrape sides of bowl with spatula

13On high speed mix icing for another 5 minutes

14Fluff with spatula
