This is a Lebanese (Middle Eastern) cake-like dessert. Easy and delicious. Originally Sfoof is made with semolina but this is an easier version and for me, a much tastier one. Give it a try!

Ingredients For turmeric cake - sfoof

  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 c
    milk
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    ground turmeric
  • 2 tsp
    ground aniseed
  • 1 tsp
    rose water
  • 3/4 tsp
    orange blossom water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbsp
    tahini paste

How To Make turmeric cake - sfoof

    -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. -Grease an 11 inch pan with tahini paste. -Mix all ingredients together, leaving the sesame seeds aside. -Pour the mixture in the baking pan, then sprinkle the top with the sesame seeds. -Bake until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
