I posted this cake on my last recipe and that was the modern version that Pillsbury made because they discontinued Double Dutch Fudge Buttercream Frosting mix and used powdered sugar and cocoa. I now posted the original 1966 recipe.

Ingredients For tunnel of fudge cake

  • 1 3/4 c
    land o lakes butter softened.
  • 6
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    pillsbury best flour
  • 1 pkg
    pillsbury two layer size double dutch fudge buttercream frosting mix
  • 3 c
    chopped diamond walnuts

How To Make tunnel of fudge cake

  • 1
    Grease and flour tube pan. Cream sugar and butter till creamy.

    Add eggs one at a time and mix.Mix in frosting mix cup at a time with whip or spoon.

    Add flour and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
