These are simple to make and such a surprise when you bite into them. I made them the first time for my son's 5th birthday party. That was 25 years ago! They are always a huge hit and the best part...no frosting required.

8 ozcream cheese

1 mdegg

6 ozchocolate chips

1/3 csugar

1/8 tspsalt
- BEAT TOGETHER CREAM CHEESE, SUGAR, EGG AND SALT. STIR IN CHOCOLATE CHIPS, SET ASIDE.

1 1/2 cflour

1/4 ccocoa powder

1/2 tspsalt

1/2 coil (canola or vegetable)

1 tspvanilla extract

1 csugar
-
1 tspbaking soda
-
1 cwater
-
1 tspvinegar
How To Make topsy turvy cupcakes

1Combine second set of ingredients: flour, cocoa, salt, oil, vanilla, sugar, baking soda, water and vinegar in a separate bowl. Fill paper lined muffin tins 2/3 full with cocoa mixture. Top each with a spoonful of cream cheese mixture.

2Bake @ 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. DO NOT FROST
