Use the finest Chocolate (NOT Dutch) you can find. The original recipe came from the back of a cocoa can years ago. ENJOY!!

Ingredients For the greatest & easiest chocolate cake

  • 3 1/3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/3 c
    cocoa powder
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 3 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    butter
  • 3 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 5
    eggs
  • CHOCOLATE FROSTING
  • 2 1/3 c
    powdered sugar (sugar free : 2 1/3 c splenda 4 tablespoons cornstarch, blend in blender) i use 1 c. + 2 tbsp slimtevia, 4 tbsp cornstarch, blend)
  • 1/3 c
    cocoa
  • 1/3 c
    butter
  • 1/3 c
    very hot water
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make the greatest & easiest chocolate cake

    Preheat oven 350. Grease and flour 9" (two) cake pans, tube pan. OR cup cake liners
  • 2
    Place all ingredients in mixing bowl and mix on high speed for 3 minutes, scraping down sides of bowl once; pour into prepared pans or fill cupcake liners to 3/4 full.

    Bake 9" cakes for 55 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Bundt cake will take longer. Cupcakes 20-25 minutes.

    FROSTING: Place all ingredients in small mixing bowl and beat for 3 minutes. Frost cooled cake/cupcakes
