Ingredients For texas sheet cake

  • 2 c
    flour
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    butter
  • 4 Tbsp
    cocoa
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2
    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • ICING
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 6 Tbsp
    milk
  • 4 Tbsp
    cocoa
  • 16 oz
    powdered sugar
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans, this is good without the nuts also.
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How To Make texas sheet cake

    In a bowl, sift together flour and sugar, set aside. In a saucepan, add the butter, cocoa and water; bring to a boil. Add to the flour mixture and stir well.

    Add the baking soda to the buttermilk, and add to the mixture. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Make sure everything is well combined.

    Pour into a sprayed 11 x 17 sheet pan. Bake at 400 degree for 20 minutes.

    For frosting: Mix the first three ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla and pecans. Spread over warm cake.

    Yum!...I forgot how glossy the cake mix gets...with all that butter...don't be counting your calories with this baby...
