Ingredients For super moist chocolate cake & frosting

  • 2/3 c
    shortening
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    good cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
    2 eggs +y yolks
  • 1 c
    sour milk/sour soy milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    expresso instant coffee
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour or cake flour
  • 1 c
    hot water
  • 2 tsp
    soda
  • 2 Tbsp
    good vanilla
  • 1 tsp
    aluminum free baking powder

How To Make super moist chocolate cake & frosting

    Mix all the dry ingredients together and sift 7 times(7 is my number of choice, the more the better, lighter texture).

    Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, Add eggs 1 at a time beating well inbetween each addition.

    Add dry ingredients alternately with the sour milk of choice.

    Add Vanilla and hot water. This will be an extremely thin batter.. It’s OKAY!! This is why it is moist..

    BAKE 35-45 mins. Until pick comes out clean.

    This Cake seems like it takes forever to assemble.. but it is worth it. Try it you’ll see. This is the ONLY Chocolate cake I’ll ever make..Store bought mix.. NAH.. Add red food color to make red velvet and cut Chocolate powder in !/2 adding as much red as you want. I use red paste color from craft/cake store.. Powder color os ok to. Am not a fan of liquids.. never have been. Paste colors are more brilliant.
