This summertime berry dump cake only takes a few minutes to prepare. The result is an easy and delicious summertime dessert. It's so good though, you'll enjoy it year-round. And since it uses frozen berries, you can. Cake mix, with a can of lemon lime soda poured on top, adds sweetness to the dessert, and the cake mix creates a nice topping for the dump cake. The filling is a little thinner than other dump cakes we've tried, but it was tasty with a little whipped cream on top. A scoop of vanilla ice cream would be lovely too. We used a 3 pound bag of berries and suggest not using anything smaller than a 2 pound bag.

Ingredients For summertime berry dump cake

1 pkgfrozen berry mix (2 - 3 lb bag)

1 boxwhite or yellow cake mix

1 canSprite or other clear soda (12 oz)

Cool Whip or whipped cream, optional
How To Make summertime berry dump cake

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2Spray 9X13 cake pan with non-stick spray.

3Spread frozen fruit evenly in the bottom of pan.

4Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over fruit. Pour a can of Sprite evenly over the cake mix. DO NOT MIX.

5Bake in the oven for approximately 45 minutes until a light golden brown.

6Allow to cool. Serve with Cool Whip or whipped cream (optional).
