Stawberries anad pecans are both plentiful here in Louisiana. Louisiana cooks love to use both in recipes and this recipe makes use of both in a delicious way!

Ingredients For strawberry pecan cake

  • CAKE:
  • 1 box
    yellow cake mix
  • 1 box
    strawberry jello, dry
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 c
    strawberries, sliced or mashed
  • 1 c
    coconut
  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped
  • FILLING:
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 box
    powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c
    sliced strawberries
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, choped
  • 1/2 c
    coconut

How To Make strawberry pecan cake

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 3 cake pans.

    For cake: Combine all dry ingredients. Add milk, oil, asnd eggs one at a time. Mix thoroughly using .an elecrtric mixer. Blend in strawberries by hand, Add coconut and pecans. Bake in 3 prepared pans for about 30 minutes. Cool layers completely before adding filling.

    Filling: Cream butter and sugar. Add strawberries by hand. Add pecans and coconut. Spread between layers and on top of cake.
