This is like a strawberry cheesecake and a cake all in one. I received this recipe at from a dear friend, and have been enjoying it ever since. Moist from the sour cream. It's just a great cake. You can mix it all in the food processor or one bowl with a mixer. This cake goes wonderful with a cup of tea or coffee..not a real sweet cake, but get a burst of sweet cream cheese/ strawberry with every mouthful..so good.. Always tested and approved by friends and family.. My pictures.

Ingredients For strawberry cream cheese cake - yum!

  • TOPPING
  • 1 - 8 oz
    plus 2 ounces, cream cheese, softened
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • CAKE
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2
    eggs
  • 3/4 c
    sour cream
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3/4 c
    strawberry preserves

How To Make strawberry cream cheese cake - yum!

    Turn oven to 350 degree F. Spray a 13 x 9 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray

    Cheesecake topping: In a medium mixing bowl; beat all ingredients for 1 minute until smooth; remove to a smaller bowl.

    In the same bowl without cleaning the bowl, add in 1/2 cup butter and 1-1/3 cups sugar; blend until smooth (about 1 minute).

    Add in vanilla, eggs, sour cream and blend well (about 30 seconds)

    Add in flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda; blend to make a smooth batter (about 30 seconds).

    Spoon batter into prepared baking pan.

    Spoon on cream cheese mixture topping (don't worry if there are open spaces). I spread it a little with my finger.

    Drop jam dollops by teaspoonfuls over cake and cream cheese areas.

    Swirl the jam and the cream cheese topping to make a gentle marble effect.

    Bake for 40 - 45 minutes, or until cake is set and the topping seems dry. Cool completely on rack and dust with powdered sugar, totally optional.. Enjoy!
