Ingredients For strawberry cake with strawberry cream cheese icing

  • 1 box
    18.5 oz white cake mix (i use duncan hines)
  • 1 box
    3 oz strawberry jello
  • 1 pkg
    10 oz frozen strawberries in syrup pureed
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE ICING
  • 1/4 c
    butter softened
  • 1 pkg
    8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 c
    strawberry puree
  • 1/2 tsp
    strawberry extract
  • 7 c
    confectioners' sugar

How To Make strawberry cake with strawberry cream cheese icing

    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

    Lightly grease 2 round 9" cake pans with Pam.

    In a large bowl combine cake mix and jello and mix until combined.

    Add 10 oz pureed strawberries, eggs, oil and water. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until smooth.

    Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

    Cool in pans for 10 minutes then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.

    To make icing. Beat butter and cream cheese in a large bowl on medium speed until creamy.

    Beat in strawberry puree and extract, scraping sides of bowl if needed.

    Gradually add confectioners' sugar and beat until smooth.

    Ice cooled cake.
