This is my families favorite cake. A birthday must have. I'm sure it will be your favorite also. Serve with a pinch of love.

Ingredients For strawberry cake

  • 1/2 box
    frozen strawberries (small carton)
  • 1 box
    white cake mix
  • 1 pkg
    strawberry jello
  • 1/2 c
    oil
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 box
    confectioners' sugar
  • 3/4 stick
    butter
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 box
    remaining strawberries
  • 3
    egg whites beaten

How To Make strawberry cake

  • 1
    Beat 4 egg whites until foamy and add cake mix, 1/2 box of strawberries with 1/2 of the liquid and the box of jello, the wesson oil and water. Mix together and pour into a 9 X 13 inch pan that has been sprayed and floured. Bake at 350 degree for 35 minutes or until the top springs back when touched. You can test with a toothpick. Stick one in the middle and if it comes out clean, it is done. Don't overcook as it will be dry.

    Icing: 1 box confectioners sugar 3/4 stick butter 1/2 bx frozen strawberries 1 t. vanilla Add the liquid a little at a time so you won't get it too thin.

    I also make this recipe into cupcakes. Bake for about 15 minutes or until touching the top they spring back. Don't overcook as they will be dry.
