Ingredients For sponge cake

  • 2 c
    flour(sifted)
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 c
    sugar or splenda sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    light salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 1 tsp
    grated orange rind

How To Make sponge cake

  • 1
    Sifted flour and baking powder several times. Stir egg yolks with water until light and thick. Add half the sugar gradually and continue beating.

    Fold in the flour and baking powder. Beat egg whites stiffly with salt and beat balance of sugar with them. Add flavoring. Fold this mixuture into batter.

    Spread in ungreased loaf pan. Bake for about 60 minutes. Cool in pan.
