How To Make spicy sausage cake
-
1Mix baking powder and dry spices in a small bowl and set aside. In mixing bowl blend sugar and sausage and beat until fluffy and light. Blend in vanilla. Beat in eggs mixing well after each one. Add spice mixture and mix well. Now gradually add the flour alternating with the milk. Fold in nuts and raisins. Pour into a greased and floured tube style cake pan (I use Bundt). Bake in preheated oven 350 degress about 60 minutes. Check for doneness after about 45 minutes because ovens vary in temperature. When done invert pan and dump on your serving plate. Wrap with plastic or foil wrap when cool. Store in refrigerator. Make 10 to 12 servings or more.

2NOTE: This cake is even better the next day which gives the flavors time to mingle better. Heat a slice in the microwave (about 10-15 seconds) with some butter on it. I like to spread cream cheese over my slice. If you prefer, top with your favorite glaze before putting in refrigerator. If you leave the glaze off you can use your imagination for your favorite toppings on each slice. For a little extra kick use hot bulk sausage instead of the medium. We like hot and spicy foods at my house!
