I created this cake recipe by tweaking other recipes.The first time I made it, I sent it along with my husband to our church board meeting on a cool Fall Georgia evening. He said that everyone enjoyed & bragged on it. Please know, this is NOT a very sweet cake. You may add 1/2 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar to the batter, if you prefer a sweeter cake.

Ingredients For spicy pumpkin nut cake

  • 1 box
    butter flavored cake mix
  • 1 box
    pumpkin spice or vanilla pudding (4 oz.)
  • 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 can
    pumpkin (15 oz.)
  • 1/4 c
    water or milk
  • 1 tsp
    allspice, ground
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground, (may substitute equal amts. pumpkin pie spice for allspice & cinnamon
  • 3/4 c
    pecans, chopped
  • powdered sugar

How To Make spicy pumpkin nut cake

  • 1
    Mix & beat all ingredients together (except for powdered sugar.)

    Pour into a greased or sprayed Bundt pan.

    Bake at 350 for 55 minutes.

    Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing onto cake plate.
  • 5
    Sprinkle desired amount of powdered sugar over cooled cake.
