Ingredients For spicy pumpkin cake

  • 1
    package yellow cake mix
  • 1
    8.5 oz can applesauce
  • 1 c
    canned pumpkin
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1/2 c
    apples peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts
  • TOPPING (OPTIONAL) YOU CAN ALSO USE CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
  • 1 c
    whipping cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    honey
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon

How To Make spicy pumpkin cake

    Preheat oven to 350. Grease and lightly flour a 13x9 pan. Combine cake mix, applesauce, pumpkin, eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Beat on medium speed for about 2 mins. Fold in apples and nuts. Spread in pan. Bake for 35-40 mins. until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.

    To make the topping; beat whipping cream, honey and cinnamon until soft peaks form. Spread over cooled cake. This cake is also good with a thin layer of cream cheese frosting or just plain cool whip as well!
