    pears, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    flour, in sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    nutmeg, in sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    margarine
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    cloves
  • 1/4 tsp
    ginger
  • 1/4 tsp
    nutmeg

How To Make spicy pear upside down cake, mom

    No directions were included, so mix together and experiment. Try a 350 degree oven and toothpick test. Maybe 30-40 min, at a guess.

    I would say that, with an upside down cake, the pears would be in the bottom. Then a combination of the "in sugar" ingredients sprinkled on pears. The rest would be the cake batter.
