This was a saved recipe card from a C&H powdered sugar box. It was in one of three recipe boxes my sister brought with her when she came to my wedding in February.

Ingredients For spice-prune cakes
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES.

1/2 cbutter or margerine

1 cc&h golden brown sugar, firmly packed

2eggs, unbeaten

1 3/4 csifted all-purpose flour

1 tspbaking soda

1/4 tspsalt

1/8 tspcloves

1/2 tspnutmeg

1 tspcinnamon

3/4 cbuttermilk or sour milk

1 cchopped, cooked prunes, well-drained
How To Make spice-prune cakes

11) Combine butter and sugar thoroughly. Stir together flour, baking soda, salt, and spices. Mix alternately with buttermilk, stirring smooth after each addition. Stir in chopped prunes.

2Spoon into cupcake pans, filling each 2/3 full. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until cakes test done. Cool and frost. Makes 24 cupcakes.
