This old fashioned cake is made without eggs. It is very moist and can have a variety of frostings, or none. It is flavorful all ways.

Ingredients For spice cake

1 craisins

1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 cwater
-
1 tspcinnamon, ground

1 tspcloves ground

1/2 cbutter
- BOIL ABOVE MIXTURE FOR 2 MINS,

1 1/2 cflour

1 tspbaking soda
How To Make spice cake

1Boil the first 6 ingredients for 2 minutes. Set aside to cool.

2Add the flour and baking soda and stir with a fork, no need to beat the batter.

3Pour into a greased 8X8 cake pan, I use a square glass dish. Bake for 30 mins at 350 degrees. Use a cake tester to see if it's done ( when it comes out clean).

4When the cake is cooled, I usually drizzle an icing over it or dust with confectionery sugar.
