Every once in a while a client will serve us a special treat while we are working on their project. This is one that is wonderful. Not fancy, but very tasty. I try to get the recipe if all the crew likes it. Thanks, Marge. Recipe from Marge Harmon.

Ingredients For sour cream coffee cake

  • 1 c
    butter
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 pt
    sour cream
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • FILLING
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped nuts
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed

How To Make sour cream coffee cake

    Cream butter and 2 cups of sugar. Add and beat in one at a time the 4 eggs and vanilla.

    In a separate bowl: Add sour cream and soda and beat for one minute.

    Add creamed butter mixture together with the sour cream mixture. Add the flour and baking powder. Mix.

    Filling: Combine till crumbly the nuts, cinnamon and brown sugar

    Oven: 350 degrees Grease and flour a 9 x 13 pan or large baking dish. First: Add 1/2 the batter, then sprinkle 1/2 the filling. Add rest of batter, then sprinkle the rest of the filling on top. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes
