This recipe takes me back to my childhood. My Aunt Sally Turner used to make this for summer picnics. Aunt Sally passed away in May 2006, but left many of her recipes behing for us to enjoy!

Ingredients For sally's watergate cake

  • 1 box
    white cake mix
  • 1 box
    instant pistachio pudding
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 c
    club soda
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts
  • TOPPING
  • 2 pkg
    dream whip
  • 1 c
    cold whole milk
  • 1 box
    instant pistachio pudding

How To Make sally's watergate cake

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour pan.

    Beat cake mix, pudding, oil, and club soda. Add eggs on at a time. Beat on for 4 minutes. Gently fold in nuts. Bake in preheated oven 30-35 minutes.

    For topping, beat Dream Whip, 1 box of pudding and milk at high speed until it peaks. Spread on cooled cake. Store in refrigerator.
